3 killed, 2 injured after car crashes into trailer on e-way
KHANDESHWAR: Three people were killed and two injured when the SUV they were travelling in crashed into a trailer at Khandeshwar on the MumbaiPune expressway on Wednesday morning. The accident took place around 5.15am near Asud village.
The victims h ave been identified as Shirish Jadhav, 21, Shailesh Jadhav, 22, and Dhananjay Jadhav, 21, all residents of Koregaon in Satara. The driver of the car Mahesh More, 26, a resident of Dombivli, and one of the passengers Kailash Jadhav, 21, a resident of Kopar Khairane escaped with injuries.

Satara to Mumbai in a Xylo SUV, when their vehicle crashed into a trailer from the rear.
The driver of the trailer fled the spot soon after the accident, while the injured were admitted to MGM hospital in Kalamboli. They are reported to be out of danger. Meanwhile, the police are on the lookout for the driver.
Janardan Thorat, senior police inspector, Khandeshwar, said, “The three victims were returning from their native place after celebrating Diwali and worked at a company in Navi Mumbai. The two injured men had met them through a friend.”
The police said that prima facie it appeared that the driver of the trailer had changed lanes suddenly, causing the car to crash into it.
Following the post mortem, the bodies were handed over to the victims’ families. Although the autopsy reports are awaited, the police have ruled out a case of drink driving.
The trailer driver has been booked for negligent driver causing death.
