Sanpada girls win west zone football tourney

NAVI MUMBAI: Ryan International School, Sanpada, emerged champions at the CBSE west- zone girls’ football tournament that was held recently.

The under-19 girls team have now entered the nationals which will be held in Tamil Nadu in December.

Sixteen teams from the west zone participated in the match held at Sanjay Ghodawat International School, Kolhapur, from October 23 to October 28. Ryan scored 26 goals in four matches.

The final was played between Ryan Inter national School, Sanpada, and Balbharati Public School, Kharghar. The girls defeated the Kharghar 2-0. Sejal Nakhawa and Kalyani K scored one goal each in the decisive match. Sejal who scored 10 goals in total was declared as player of tournament.
