FREE SCREENING CAMP ON WORLD DIABETES DAY
NAVI MUMBAI: City hospitals observed the World Diabetes Day on November 14 by organising free screening camps at different locations.
The DY Patil hospital in Nerul held these camps at 10 different locations in Navi Mumbai including Nerul, Seawoods and Sanpada.
The results of these checkups revealed that of the 1,042 people tested, 595 were non-diabetic, while 447 people were detected with high levels of sugar. Out of these, 61 were diagnosed with diabetes.
“Diabetes is a progressive disorder and, hence, those detected with it must undergo treatment immediately. We told them about the precautions and how to avoid or delay its complications,” said a consulting diabetologist from the hospital.
