I n an attempt to prevent commuters from risking their lives by crossing railway tracks, this Rs34.03crore skywalk was built outside the Kharghar station and was opened to public use on December 6, 2012.
Thanks to this state-of-the-art, cable strap skywalk, thousands of Navi Mumbaiites no longer have to cross the dangerous SionPanvel highway and can walk towards Bhartiya Vidyapeeth College or Utsav Chowk.
The skywalk is also the first one in the MMRDA region to have an open escalator on the railway station side of the skywalk.
SKYWALK AT RABALE

Kharghar’s cable strap skywalk has been of great help to pedestrians on the Sion-Panvel highway. NMMC’s skywalk at Rabale, too, has helped reduce accidents.
