The city got a much-needed recreational spot when the Rs38.84-crore, Wonders Park was inaugurated by Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar on December 15, 2012 in sector 19A Nerul.
The 30-acre park houses facilities not just for children but for senior citizens as well. Its special attractions include mini replicas of the seven wonders of the world including the Taj Mahal, The Great Wall of China, the Petra city of Jordan, the Colosseum in Rome, Machu Picchu in Peru, The Chichen Itza monument in Mexico and Cristo Redentor, the statue of christ in Rio de Janeiro.
The park has rides, a toy train and cycling and skating paths. Other facilities include an amphitheatre, a landscaped pond, party and picnic lawns, food plaza and a guest house.
