ANNABHAU SATHE MEMORIAL TO BE BUILT IN CITY

VASHI: The city will soon have a memorial decided to late Marathi writer from the Matang community, Annabhau Sathe.

The announcement was made by Thane guardian minister Gnaesh Naik at a programme to mark the 219th birthday of freedom fighter Lahuji Salve. Naik said the plot for the memorial will be finalise in January. NCP state deputy president Uttamrao Gaikwad and community leader Babasaheb Gopale have been long demanding a the construction of an auditorium, where the community’s socio-cultural accomplishments can be displayed.

The occasion was also used to felicitate meritorious students from Class 10 and 12, journalists, industrialists and social workers.
