EX-CBI CHIEF GAVE EX-PM CLEAN CHIT
NEW DELHI: On a day the SC suspended a trial court’s summons to Manmohan Singh to appear as an accused in a coal block allocation case, it has come to light that the then CBI director Ranjit Sinha in November gave the ex-PM and other accused a clean chit, concluding that the allocation was “in national interest and in view of its federal legal framework”. Sinha, in a written order taking a final call for CBI to file its second closure report in the case, said “there was no criminality in the process, no concealment of facts by the PMO and gave a clean chit to Singh, the firm and other accused,” a source said.
