THE ACB REGISTERS CASES UNDER TWO CATEGORIES

Hindustan Times ST (Mumbai) - HT Navi Mumbai Live - - NAVI MUMBAI -

Bribe sought:

If a government official asks for a bribe for any purpose and a complainant registers a case with the ACB, then the officials lay a trap to catch the accused red-handed

Disproportionate assets:

If the ACB receives a complaint of a public servant possessing assets disproportionate to known sources of income, then ACB officials could arrest the accused

“The cases registered by the ACB are tried by the special courts and not by regular courts. The special courts do not have sufficient manpower, which delays the judicial procedure.”

VIVEK JOSHI, deputy superintendent of police, ACB, Navi Mumbai
