FABINDIA SORRY, BUT IN­SISTS ‘NO HID­DEN CAM­ERAS’

MUMBAI: A day af­ter Union HRD min­is­ter Sm­riti Irani said she spot­ted a hid­den cam­era in the chang­ing room of a Fabindia store in Goa, the com­pany on Satur­day apol­o­gised to her, but said “there were no hid­den cam­eras any­where in the store, in­clud­ing the trial rooms”.

The cam­era in ques­tion, the com­pany’s state­ment said, was part of the sur­veil­lance sys­tem and was in full public view.

The state­ment came on a day when all four of its em­ploy­ees who were ar­rested on Fri­day were granted bail.

The store manager, who was not trace­able, ap­plied for an­tic­i­pa­tory bail through her lawyer.
