ROAMING TARIFF FOR MOBILE USERS TO FALL FROM MAY 1

Roaming charges for mobile phone users are set to fall 20-75% for outgoing and incoming calls, as well as SMS, beginning May 1. While mobile calls will be cheaper by up to 23%, sending SMSes will cost up to 75% less. The TRAI has reduced the ceiling tariff for national roaming — which ensures operators will have to charge less or the same rate as prescribed by Trai.
