Two-year- old boy drowns in wa­ter tank at Kalam­boli

KALAM­BOLI: A t wo- year- old boy drowned in a wa­ter tank in Kalam­boli on Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon.

Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice, the mi­nor, iden­ti­fied as Harsh Ganesh Dho­ple, was play­ing with his mother in their ground floor apart­ment at Omkar CHS at Kalam­boli’s Sec­tor 15 around 2pm.

Even­tu­ally, when his mother got busy with work, he wan­dered out alone and walked to­wards a wa­ter tank near the build­ing.

“The wa­ter tank near the build­ing was un­cov­ered and the child slipped into it and drowned,” said a po­lice of­fi­cer from Kalam­boli po­lice sta­tion, re­quest­ing anonymity.

A few min­utes later, the boy’s mother came out in search of him and found him in the wa­ter tank.

The boy was rushed to a nearby hos­pi­tal, where he was de­clared dead on ar­rival.

“The fam­ily has not com­plained against any­one as of now. We have reg­is­tered a case of ac­ci­den­tal death,” said the po­lice of­fi­cer.

The po­lice have sent the child’s body to Pan­vel ru­ral hos­pi­tal for a post-mortem. The re­ports are awaited.
