Two-year- old boy drowns in water tank at Kalamboli
KALAMBOLI: A t wo- year- old boy drowned in a water tank in Kalamboli on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the police, the minor, identified as Harsh Ganesh Dhople, was playing with his mother in their ground floor apartment at Omkar CHS at Kalamboli’s Sector 15 around 2pm.
Eventually, when his mother got busy with work, he wandered out alone and walked towards a water tank near the building.
“The water tank near the building was uncovered and the child slipped into it and drowned,” said a police officer from Kalamboli police station, requesting anonymity.
A few minutes later, the boy’s mother came out in search of him and found him in the water tank.
The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
“The family has not complained against anyone as of now. We have registered a case of accidental death,” said the police officer.
The police have sent the child’s body to Panvel rural hospital for a post-mortem. The reports are awaited.
