WHY THE DAM HEIGHT NEEDS TO BE INCREASED
The PMC needs 26.5 MLD water to ensure water supply to all its residents The civic body gets 10MLD water from Dehrang dam, 7MLD from MJP, 8MLD from MIDC and 1.5MLD from Cidco The present storage capacity of Dehrang dam stands at 10,000MLD. If the height of the dam is increased by 5-6 metres, its storage capacity will go up by 30MLD, said officials in the Panvel Municipal Council’s water supply department.
