Attend Carnatic music concert this Sunday
VASHI: There’s a musical treat in store for Carnatic music lovers this weekend. The Vashi Fine Arts Society (VFAS) will organise a music concert this Sunday at Jhulelal Mandir in Vashi from 6.15pm onwards.
Artiste MVS Nisha will perform at the musical fest. Sharada Murali will accompany Nisha on the violin and Vishwa Prasanna on the mridangam
“The artiste will render some compositions of Sri Swati Thirunal and Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar as a tribute to the legendary composers whose birth anniversaries are celebrated on April 16 and March 24 respectively,” said Kannan Iyer, secretary of VFAS.
The lead performer 19-yearold Nisha Suresh has per- formed at many music festivals across Mumbai and cities like Bangalore and Chennai. This will, however, be her first performance at Vashi.
“Presenting a thematic concert helps an artiste grow as a musician,” said the artiste.
“This thematic concert has helped me learn more about the unmatchable composers. I am sure the audience will be enthralled with the repertoire of compositions that these legendary composers have left for us to cherish,” said Suresh.
