UP man with unlicensed pistol arrested

The police on Thursday arrested a 35-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh, who was allegedly travelling with a country-made pistol and two live cartridges. After receiving a tip-off, the police arrested the accused, identified as Mahesh Kumar Yadav, outside CBD Belapur railway station around 5.30pm. “We are investigating from where he got the pistol and if he was planning to sell it to someone in the city. We are interrogating him to get more details,” said a police officer from Belapur police station.
