Five held for assaulting ‘BJP supporter’
The police caught five people, who claimed to be NCP members, for allegedly assaulting a ‘BJP supporter’ on Thursday. Suresh Patil, Arvind Mhatre, Pranav Patil, Pratap Gharat, Jitu Mhatre assaulted Turbhe resident Rohit Bhosale, suspecting him of paying Rs500 to locals to vote for a BJP candidate. A counter case has also been registered against Bhosale for allegedly distributing cash. “After getting the court’s permission, we will investigate the case,” said DCP Shahaji Umap.
