POLICE MEET BANK AUTHORITIES TO CREATE AWARENESS
The Thane police, after receiving order from Parambir Singh, commissioner of police, have not only displayed posters and banners about cyber fraud, but have ordered every police station’s commanding officers to visit banks and create awareness about such fraud. “Recently, we had a meeting with all the bank managers in our jurisdiction including nationalised, state and local banks, and made them aware about the rise in debit card fraud. We told them that everyone who opens a new account with them should be asked not to share their debit card details on phone or any such details that could result in a crime. Such a programme was conducted by every police station in the commissionerate,” said Abhijeet Mohite, police inspector (crime), Kapurbawdi police station.
