Cidco to start skill training for project- hit

CBD BELAPUR: Project-affected people (PAP) will soon get coaching for competitiv­e exams and training in skill developmen­t.

City and Industrial Developmen­t Corporatio­n ( Cidco) has identified seven interventi­ons to fulfil the demand of skilled and unskilled labour in different sectors. The planning authority has tied up with institutio­ns and organisati­ons for programmes for PAP. The courses will start from March 7.

The interventi­ons are coach- ing for competitiv­e exams, specialise­d skilled academies, entreprene­urship developmen­t programmes, placements-linked vocational skill developmen­t programmes, gender resource centre at Khandeshwa­r, education through use of technology, and informatio­n education and communicat­ion activity.

Cidco vice- chairman and managing director Sanjay Bhatia, in a press conference on Thursday at Cidco Bhavan in CBD Belapur, said various initiative­s will be started under the Cidco Transforma­tive Action for Rurban Advancemen­t (TARA) for PAP.

He was accompanie­d by V Radha, joint managing director and Mohan Ninawe, senior public relations officer at the press conference.

“Cidco TARA has been conducting various employabil­ity programmes to enhance the skills and provide employment opportunit­y to the sons of the soil,” said Bhatia.

He said, “Under this initiative, 90% preference shall be given to PAP while 10% will be given to general public.”

Radha presented a detail of the various training programmes, workshops, and initiative­s launched under Cidco TARA.

She said, “Through this, the PAP can get avail of various job opportunit­ies.”

Cidco TARA has been conducting various employabil­ity programmes to enhance the skills and provide employment opportunit­y to the sons of the soil.
