The minor boy was rescued, thanks to local fisherman Rajaram Joshi, whose help the police sought.

“The police and fire personnel said they were unable to get the boy out of the sludge in the mangroves area. I rushed to the spot. I saw him deep inside the sludge and sinking, with just 1 feet above.”

He said, “I also saw a body, which turned out to be that of the other boy. I swam towards the boy who was sinking.”
