NAVI MUMBAI: After purchasing 20 midi buses last week, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport is waiting for another 150 buses they had ordered for a few months ago. The new buses are likely to come within a few months.

“We are running a total of 360 buses, including 70 airconditioned ones on 48 routes. This number is not sufficient to cover such a huge area. We will soon get more buses,” said Sirish Aradwad, general manager of NMMT.

“The new buses we have ordered for, will not be used outside Navi Mumbai,” he said. They have received a good response from the new bus service started between Panvel railway station and Karanjade last week. The first service from Panvel is at 6.42am while the last service is at 8.40pm. Similarly, from Karanjade, the first service is at 7am and the last service is at 9pm.
