SECOND INCIDENT THIS MONTH

-

This is the second incident of train disruption this month. On April 4, over 50 trains were cancelled on trans-harbour line after an overhead wire snapped between Ghansoli and Rabale stations, leaving thousands of passengers stranded for over three hours. Officials had said the disruptions were because of the ongoing work for the conversion from Direct Current (DC) to Alternate Current (AC).

On Friday, more than 30 trains between Thane and Panvel were cancelled, leading to a chaos at Thane station. Officegoers chose to walk on the tracks to Thane station and go Navi Mumbai through Kurla.

“This is the second time that services were hit. I travel to Vashi for work every day. When I went to the auto stand today, the driver demanded Rs600 to Rs700 which is much more than the actual fare which is merely Rs300 to Rs400.”
