CITY’S GUARDIANS BEGIN PREPARATIONS FOR MAY DAY

The bus depot at Ghansoli that has been awaiting its inauguration for at least a month will finally be inaugurated on May 1. The depot was to be inaugurated in March-end, but the inauguration was postponed. It was further delayed after the election code of conduct came in force for the by-election in Yadav Nagar. NMMT chairman Sabu Daniel has confirmed the depot will be inaugurated on May 1. “Work on the NMMT depot in Ghansoli has been completed. It will help plan buses from a centralised location in the city. It will also reduce the load on Turbhe and Asudgaon bus depots,” said Daniel. He added, “There are several hurdles we had to pass to ready the depot. All the formalities have now been completed and we are ready to start using it.”
