EARLIER INCIDENTS

February 5, 2016:

The Kamothe police registered a case against one real estate developer for allegedly swindling several people of Rs20 lakh promising flats in a building at Adai village in Panvel. The suspects had taken Rs3 to Rs5 lakh from each victim and fled without handing over the flats.

October 7, 2015:

The Kopar Khairane police booked five people for allegedly duping over 30 people to the tune of Rs5 crore assuring flats in an under-construction building.

April, 13, 2015:

The Kamothe police arrested Roopesh Kaungade, 35, and two of his accomplices for allegedly cheating 35 people of Rs2 crore promising flats. They would tell people that he had started several projects in Navi Mumbai and could offer flats at cheaper rates.
