PLAN FOR A SMART NAVI MUMBAI
EMERGENCY CALL BOX TO CONTACT COPS:
Cidco and the city police have jointly chalked out a plan to install 10 call boxes in the city, where the people will be able to directly contact the police helplines. A caller will be able to communicate with the police officials in the control room through video conferences and convey his or her messages to them, a senior police officer said.
VARIABLE MESSAGING SIGNS:
Installation of digital signboards at specified locations which will display messages/ information in multiple languages. These will be digital road signs that can be used to inform car drivers about specific temporary events and real-time traffic situation
PARKING LOT AVAILABILITY AUTOMATION:
This will automatically display the real-time availability of parking slots. This will also be made accessible through mobile app and will be integrated with variable messaging signboards. Police will also be able to keep a tab on cars entering and exiting the locations along with the car numbers. This will also help in tracking missing vehicles
CONNECTIVITY FOR SENSORS:
Initiatives such as temperature sensors, air quality sensors, flood water sensors, fire and smoke sensors will enable police to manage emergencies incidents and will help in better coordination with other government authorities such as medical help and fire brigade.
