MUMBAI: A day after Congress leader and former party president Rahul Gandhi’s remark that the party was not “the key decision-maker” in Maharashtr­a triggered speculatio­n about the fate of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and Gandhi spoke and reiterated their commitment to the alliance.

Separately, key ministers from the three parties in the government — Shiv Sena, Nationalis­t Congress Party and the Congress — had an extensive internal meeting and then put up a united front defending the government’s handling of the pandemic.
