MUMBAI: Suved Parkar and Shams Mulani staged a brilliant rescue act as Mumbai beat Karnataka by four wickets to enter the semi-finals of the CK Nayudu Trophy in Ahmedabad on Friday. Tottering at 50 for six chasing 244 on the final day, Parkar (103*, 163b, 9x4, 4x6) and Mulani (74*, 153b, 6x4) joined forces to take Mumbai over the line on a difficult fourth day pitch.

Parker, who usually bats at No. 5, made the difference at No. 7. “The way Shams and I planned after being 50 for six, we executed it. We kept small targets: build 10-run partnerships and not look at the scoreboard.
