Woman cheats Kalyan man of 4-L jewellery

KALYAN: A 25-year-old woman from Dombivli cheated a man of jewellery worth Rs4 lakh after marrying another man.

The woman, Mitali Kulkarni, works in private firm in Kalyan and is a resident of Subhash Nagar in Kalyan (West).

In April 2014, the woman married a 28-year-old gym trainer from Kalyan.

Senior police inspector from Bazarpeth police station D Suryawanshi said, “The woman had placed a matrimony ad in a newspaper after which Lal approached her and they got married. Till 2015, they were together.”

In January 2015, she got married to another man from Dombivli. Lal did not know as she used to tell him that she was going out of town for work .She cheated the other man is a similar way.

Suryawanshi said, “The woman cheated both men. One of her husbands found out when his friend told him that his wife’s picture is on Facebook with some other man. When he checked, he was shocked to know that she got married in January 2015 to another man. She was wearing the gold chain given by her first husband.”

The man first cross-checked if she had got married. He then wrote a letter to the police station and a case was lodged on Thursday. The woman is a Dombivli resident and she is absconding. “We are trying to trace her phone and we will also question her relatives,” said Suryawanshi.
