Get a slice of north-east in Navi Mumbai today
VASHI: Residents of the city are in for a visual treat of a variety of North-Eastern art and culture for the first time in the city on Saturday, August 27.
The one-day event ‘Songs and Dances of North-East’, conceptualised by the North Eastern Council, Shillong, in coordination with the department of tourism of Arunachal Pradesh will be organising their second edition at Navi Mumbai after the first successful edition of the fest in Delhi last year.
The day-long programme will be held at Cidco Exhibition and Convention hall at Sector 30 in Vashi from 10am to 10pm.
Various performances on traditional dance forms from different parts of the north east such as Laiharabo, Cham, Tripuri, Bodo, and Garo will be performed by artistes. Contemporary music artistes such as Lou Majaw, Guru Rewben, Omak Komut Collective, The Vinyl Records and others too will perform on Saturday.
You will also get a taste of mouth-watering north-east delicacies.
