State to deduct salary of officials, staff

MUMBAI: Cash-strapped Maharashtra government has decided to deduct salary of two days from the monthly pay of IAS, IPS, IFS and Class 1 and 2 officers and salary of one day from the monthly pay of Class B, C and D employees for the management of Covid-19 pandemic. The amount accumulated from the deduction will be deposited in the chief minister’s relief fund and utilised for Covid19 management. Employees will also have the option to seek exemption from such compulsion of deduction, a government resolution issued on Friday stated.
