MUMBAI: Mumbai beat Rajasthan on the basis of first innings lead to enter the semi-finals of the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy in Kolkata on Thursday.

Suryansh Shedge (105) scored a century as Mumbai posted 421 to take a lead of 58 runs in the first innings. Mumbai then reduced Rajasthan to 126 for seven in the second innings on the final day.

Jemimah’s knock in vain as Mumbai lose

After winning their opening two matches, Mumbai lost to Punjab by seven wickets in the Senior Women’s T20 League in Ranchi on Tuesday.

Batting first, Mumbai posted 156 for six thanks to skipper Jemimah Rodrigues’ knock of 93 from 54 balls. While Rodrigues and Riya Chaudhari (39, 42b) shared an opening wicket stand of 83 in 72 balls, other batters failed to fire.

Punjab chased down the target with 14 balls to spare thanks to half-centuries by skipper Harmanpree­t Kaur (57*, 36b) and Taniya Bhatia (51, 38b).
