Satwik-Chirag exit from Denmark Open

NEW DELHI: Men’s doubles seventh seeds Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty on Friday crashed out of the $750,000 Denmark Open with a straightgames loss to reigning world champions Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.

The fourth-seeded pairing from Malaysia advanced to the semi-finals with a 21-16, 21-19 victory in 41 minutes over the reigning Commonwealth Games champions at the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense. This was Chia and Yik’s seventh win in as many meetings against the world No 8 Indian combine.

Aman enters 57kg final

PONTEVEDRA (SPAIN): Wrestler Aman assured India of at least a silver medal in the men’s 57kg freestyle by entering the final at the U-23 world championship here on Friday.

Aman beat Bekzat Almaz Uulu of Kyrgyzstan 10-5.
