Akasa flight lands safely after bird hit
An Akasa Air flight from Ahmedabad to Delhi had to be grounded on Thursday after suffering a bird hit. The aircraft however, landed safely and all passengers disembarked safely. “The aircraft has been positioned for a detailed inspection. The subsequent flight has been impacted and our customer service team is assisting passengers and arrangements are being made to accommodate their journeys,” the airline spokesperson said. A Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) official said that the Boeing 737-8 MAX registered as VT-YAF experienced a bird strike during the climb out passing 1900 feet. “Post landing at Delhi, radome damage was observed,” the official said. This is the second incident of bird hit involving an Akasa Air aircraft. On October 15, a Bangalore-bound plane from Mumbai returned to the airport due to a burning smell in the cabin, which turned out to be due to bird strike.
