GIRL RAPED, KILLED AS PART OF ‘OCCULT RITUAL’ IN HARYANA

KOLKATA/KARNAL: A 35-year-old man was arrested from a Howrahbound train on Thursday for allegedly raping and murdering a seven-year-old girl as part of an occult ritual in Panipat town of Haryana on the night of Diwali (October 24), officers of the government railway police in West Bengal said on Friday.

He was handed over to the Haryana police later in the day.

The girl’s body was found in a cremation ground in Panipat on October 25. Panipat superintendent of police Shashank Kumar Sawan said the accused, identified as Yogesh alias Shiv Kumar, kidnapped the girl and raped and strangled her as a sacrifice for an occult ritual.
