DIWALI ACCIDENT: FAMILY APPEALS CM FOR HELP

MUMBAI: A 27 year old call centre employee from Malad East was hospitalis­ed after her skirt caught fire on Diwali day. She sustained second degree burns for which she is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The bill for her hospital stay and treatment being beyond the means of the family, they approached Bombay East Indian Associatio­n, who along with NGO Watchdog Foundation has appealed to the chief minister to help pay the bills.

Agma Lopez was celebratin­g Diwali at her sister’s place. She bent down to light up a flowerpot, her skirt caught fire from the flame of another cracker.
