AGHAV, BANGERA PUT VENGSARKAR ACADEMY ON TOP IN SEMI-FINAL

MUMBAI: Off-spinners Harsh Aghav (6/30) and Agatsya Bangera (2/35) combined to bundle out Mumbai Police Gymkhana for just 89 and put Dilip Vengsarkar Cricket Academy right on top in the semi-finals of the U-16 Santosh Kumar Ghosh tournament on Friday.

At stumps, Vengsarkar Academy were cruising at 143 for one. Rohan Karandikar made an unbeaten 83 in 90 balls with eight fours. In the other semi-final, Sportsfiel­d CC notched up 243 in 65.2 overs against Dadar Parsee Colony.

Spirited Iron Born rally to earn 3-1 victory

Iron Born FC scored three goals in the second half as they rallied to record a 3-1 victory against Soccer XI Sports Club in a Super Division match of the Mumbai Football Associatio­n (MFA) League at the Neville D’Souza ground on Friday.

Soccer XI took the lead when Robin Joseph struck to take his team into half-time with a 1-0 lead. However, Iron Born turned it around after the break with Mohammed Khatib scoring in the 60th and 64th minutes and Nilesh Mourya adding the third in the 66th minute to complete the win.
