Sable among Arjuna nominees, Lad in line for Dronacharya
NEW DELHI: Table tennis ace Achanta Sharath Kamal has been recommended for this year’s Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna, the country’s highest sporting honour. The awards committee, headed by Justice (retd) AM Khanwilkar, chose Sharath as the lone nominee, which makes him only the second paddler to bag the award after Manika Batra.
The committee also shortlisted 25 athletes for the Arjuna award. They include serial national record breaker in 3000m steeplechase, Avinash Sable, boxer Amit Panghal, triple jumper Eldhose Paul and boxer Nikhat Zareen.
Rohit Sharma’s coach Dinesh Lad has been recommended for the Dronacharya Award in the lifetime category.
Djokovic in Paris final; Alcaraz out for season

Hyderabad FC notch up fourth straight win
HYDERABAD: Table-toppers Hyderabad FC defeated Odisha FC by a solitary goal to register their fourth consecutive win in the Indian Super League here on Saturday.

Schumacher’s 2003 Ferrari up for auction
GENEVA: The Ferrari in which Formula One legend Michael Schumacher drove to the 2003 World Championship title is set to be auctioned on Wednesday.
The F2003-GA, Chassis 229 is estimated to fetch between 7.5 and 9.5 million Swiss francs ($7.6 and $9.6 million) when it goes on offer in Geneva.
It is “one of the most significant Formula One cars of all time”, the auctioneers said.
