TWO MINORS AMONG 3 HELD FOR MURDER OF DERA FOLLOWER
FARDIKOT/ NEW DELHI: A team of the Delhi Police on Friday arrested a 26-year-old man and apprehended two minors in connection with the killing of Dera Sacha Sauda follower Pardeep Singh in Faridkot district on Thursday.
Singh, an accused in the 2015 sacrilege cases, was shot dead by six assailants at his shop on Hari Nau road in Kotkapura on Thursday morning. His security guard Hakam Singh and another shopkeeper Amar Singh also sustained injuries in the attack, which was caught on CCTV.
Delhi police special commissioner (special cell) HGS Dhaliwal said on Friday: “There were a total of six assailants of two groups from Punjab and Haryana. Four from Haryana and two from Punjab. A team of the special cell raided Bakshiwala village in Patiala district at around 3 am on Friday and arrested three of the Haryana group. The fourth absconding member is identified as person with an alias — Hooda.”
Deputy commissioner of police (special cell) Manishi Chandra identified the accused who was arrested as Jitender Lal, a resident of Rohtak.
He said the two juveniles who were detained were also Haryana residents — one from Rohtak and the other from Bhiwani.
He added that Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar and his three associates had planned the attack on Singh.
