Malad BPO employee’s boyfriend arrested, remanded to custody

MUMBAI: On Thursday, Dahisar police arrested the 25-year-old man, who had allegedly tried to kill his 24-year-old girlfriend. The accused identified as Amey Darekar, has been remanded to police custody for five days.

The woman, Priyangi Singh, a BMM graduate and call centre employee, underwent a spinal surgery at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital on Thursday. The Dahisar police had detained Darekar on Wednesday after the woman’s father, Munish Singh claimed that Darekar had tried to kill her.
