Will bounce back stronger in LS polls: CM
MUMBAI: Chief minister Eknath Shinde on Friday took a dig at the Opposition for their ‘euphoric celebration’ of Kasba Peth’s victory. He said that the ruling government took a lesson from the defeat and would reverse the results in the next general elections.
“BJP has the history of winning the Assembly elections after losing the bypolls. This was seen after sweeping Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh polls after losing the bypolls before them. In Maharashtra, our Shiv Sena is with them, and as you know, I am known for election management. We have drawn learnings from the defeat of Kasba Peth and will take corrective steps immediately,” he said.
Shinde while replying to the government’s congratulatory resolution on Maharashtra governor Ramesh Bais’ joint address to the Maharashtra legislature, said in the Assembly on Friday that his government does not work keeping the elections in mind.
He was replying to the leader of the opposition Ajit Pawar, who taunted him by saying that the people of Maharashtra have shown the right place to the government.

Govt not negative about return of OPS, says Dy CM
MUMBAI: Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who had shown a willingness to adopt the old pension scheme for employees before the legislative council polls, has cited that his government was not negative on the return of the old pension scheme.
The issue was raised in the legislative council on Friday by MLCs Rajesh Rathod, Kapil Patil, Satej Patil and others.
