‘SOME PEOPLE ARE ALREADY DREAMING OF BECOMING PM’

MUMBAI: In a veiled attack on Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, Nationalis­t Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday alleged that the BJP leader was instigatin­g commu nal division.

Referring to the recent com munal riots in Muzaffarna­gar in Uttar Pradesh, the Maratha strongman said without nam ing Modi in Mumbai that some leaders in the hope of PM’S post were inciting communal hatred

Pawar said that BJP thinks it will gain more seats post riots in Uttar Pradesh and it will help them in realizing the dream of assuming power at the centre. “To fullfil the dream the attempts are made to divide the communitie­s in the name of castes, religions and languages But the people in country are wise and would not fall prey to the attempts,” he said while addressing workers’ rally organ ized by trade union leader Vijay Kamble at Bandra on Saturday

Praising former prime minis ter and senior BJP leader Ata Bihari Vajpayee for his libera views and democratic way of functionin­g, Pawar said he never stood by the communal forces He took a dig at Modi, for his alleged haste and aspiration to become the prime minister and said that it was a day-dreaming of the Gujarat chief minister.

He also made an appealed the people believing in secular ism to come together to raise voice against the communa forces. He also announced that his party would extend helping hands to the riot hit people in Muzaffarna­gar.
