SHINDE’S POLITICS CREATING A RIFT

The directives issued by Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde to chief ministers of all states, asking them to not allow the detention of innocent Muslims is a violation of Article 14 of the Constitution, which stands against discrimination of people on grounds of religion or race (Don’t detain innocent Muslim youth, Shinde writes to CMS, October 1). No criminal is above the law irrespective of the community he or she may belong to. It is disgusting that Shinde is creating a rift among Indians for petty votebank politics.
