MUMBAI: Defending champions Air India kick started their Times Shield ‘A’ division campaign on Tuesday against Bharat Petroleum. But it was a different side playing without frontline spinners Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila, who have been banned for life after the spot-fixing fiasco.

The side seems to have put behind the forgettabl­e incident. “They were seasoned players. But we have to look ahead. We will take a game or two to settle, the side is still very good and can go all the way,” said Air India’s keeperbats­man Naman Ojha at MIG CC.

Put in to bat after a delayed start due to a wet outfield, Air India were 103 for two at stumps. A division brief scores:
