Your series on the city’s best schools is informativ­e. The parameters on which the schools have been rated are well-researched and inclusive. All the important aspects such as basic infrastruc­ture and welfare of teachers and staff have been covered. I would like to highlight that the knowledge our teachers impart stay with us forever but the treatment meted out to them by school administra­tions is demeaning and inhuman. The piece drawing attention to the conviction of Lalu Prasad and Rasheed Masood was candid and well-narrated (Conviction­s, a step in the right direction, October 2). Many of our elected representa­tives continue to misuse power and loot public money. It is sad indeed for our democracy that the task of cleansing the political system is left to the judiciary. Of late, judiciary has come out with some encouragin­g verdicts for the welfare of the country. However, the conviction­s could have come much quicker. If
