Anna says ready to work with VK Singh

NEW DELHI: Anti-graft activist Anna Hazare on Wednesday said he would continue work with former army chief Gen VK Singh, who had recently shared stage with BJP’S prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at Rewari.

Two days ago, Hazare had said he would sever all ties with Singh if the former army chief continued his dalliance with political parties.

Hazare change of heart came after he met the former army chief this afternoon in New Delhi. “Singh told me, he had shared stage with Modi only because it was a ex-servicemen’s rally and that he would not be joining the BJP as being speculated. With his stand clear, I don’t think there is going to be any problem for our work to continue,” Hazare told media persons after the meeting.

After he fell out with former lieutenant Arvind Kejriwal, who went on to form Aam Aadmi Party, Hazare had formed the ‘Jantantra Morcha’ with Singh.

Commenting on the highvoltage drama of the ordinance protecting convicted members of Parliament being opposed by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi — the ordinance was withdrawn later in the evening — Hazare said: “Parliament is a sacred temple, only good people need to go. I am sure, even when lot of political parties are oppos ing it, they would be taught a les son in the forthcoming general elections.”

Hazare is in Delhi for a train ing session for volunteers of Jantantra Morcha.
