Two govindas in critical condition after fall

MUMBAI: A day after the city celebrated dahi handi, the final count of injured govindas stood at 185.

Of those injured, 20 have been admitted to the Sion Hospital and Parel’s KEM Hospital. While 11 govindas are stable and recovering in KEM hospital, two of the injured are in critical condition in the trauma ward of Sion hospital.

“Three govindas admitted with us underwent orthopaedi­c procedures and are stable. The rest have mostly injured their legs and have sustained fractures. None of them are critical,” said Dr Praveen Bangar, senior assistant medical officer, KEM Hospital.
