NAVI MUMBAI MAN BOOKED FOR SODOMISING 12-YR-OLD BOY

MUMBAI: The Bandra police reg istered a case of sexual assault against a 55-year-old Navi Mumba resident after a 12-year-old boy who had gone missing from his home on August 10, was found at Bandra Bandstand on Monday morning.

The boy told the police that his neighbour had forced him to consume alcohol and had sexu ally abused him. According to the police, the child is a resident of Navi Mumbai. His parents had filed a missing person’s report with the Kopar Khairane police station after he did not return home on August 10.

“The incident came into light after the boy was found crying at Bandstand. A local noticed him and alerted policemen patrolling the area. He was then brought to Bandra police station,” said police

In his statement, the boy said his neighbour had forced him to consume alcohol and had sexually abused him in the past. He told his mother about the incident, but was warned against going to the neighbour’s house again, a police officer said.

“On August 10, the neighbour took the boy out for a meal before sexually abusing him. He then left the child at a railway station The boy travelled in local trains and has been eating borrowed food from railway stalls for the last few days,” the officer added.

The police do not know where the boy was abused. “We have registered a case against the sus pect under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act,” said Ramchandra Dhavale, senior inspector, Bandra police station
