The retirement of experienced players like Jayawardene and Sangakkara has given enough opportunities for the next set of players to step in, fill the gaps and move on. Skipper Mathews alone cannot produce results. With cricket being a team game, all the team members need to perform together and collectively contribute to the team’s winning cause. Showing glimpses here and there and also scoring runs and taking wickets in patches might help the individual players’ statistics but
