MUMBAI: In an email interview with HT, Texas Legends president Malcolm K Farmer outlined the team’s plans for Satnam Singh Bhamara.

How do Texas Legends see Satnam Singh’s progress as a player since he joined the team?

Satnam has got better every day with the Legends. He is committed to becoming a better all-round basketball player and recognises that this season is an opportunity to develop his game and become the best player he can be.

What areas do the Texas Legends coaches think he needs to work on to get into the starters’ list?

Satnam will continue to get more playing opportunities as the season progresses and as he continues to develop as a player. Right now, our primary focus is on improving Satnam’s quickness, agility, ability to run the floor, and overall understanding of the American style of play.

Is the franchise happy with his fitness and understanding of the game?

He entered the season in good shape, and has dedicated himself in the weight room as he continues to get into better shape. He has shown a willingness to work and has been a true professional in his preparation. His understanding of the game has been better than expected, and he works with the coaches each day to improve in this area.

Does the chief coach think he can get into the starting lineup in future?

As long as Satnam continues to work hard, which we have no doubt he will, sky is the limit for what he can accomplish.

A lot of people in India think Satnam was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks as part of a marketing plan. Do the Legends too consider his presence that way?

Satnam has committed himself to becoming the best basketball player he can be, and the Texas Legends have committed to providing Satnam with every possible resource to maximise that opportunity.
