NEW DELHI: As Indian intelligence agencies analysed inputs that “half a dozen terrorists” may sneak into Gujarat via the sea, another Pakistani trawler was found abandoned off Koteshwar coast in Kutch area of the state. But sources said these two developments seemed unrelated.

According to reports, the boat was spotted around 8.30pm on Friday. The fishing equipment and fuel found onboard suggested alleged Pakistani fishermen might have fled after finding a patrolling team in the vicinity. The boat is 10 feet wide and 20 feet broad. Some ration, water jugs, fishing nets, crabs, diesel and mattress were found onboard.

A senior government official in Delhi said an intelligence report showed that half a dozen terrorists may infiltrate through the sea into Gujarat. Security agencies, including the Border Security Force (BSF) and coast guards and state administration, have been alerted. It was learnt the input was shared by the Pakistan NSA with his Indian counterpart But the Indian to confirm it.

Meanwhile, there were some “disturbing” inputs about a terror attack aimed at creating the “maximum media impact” during Shivratri and the ongo ing Parliament session, Western Army Commander Lt Gen KJ Singh said on Saturday, with an assurance that steps have been taken to deal with it. “There are security-related problems today You know, Maha Shivratri is coming. There are inputs which are disturbing but notwithstand ing that, extra care has been taken,” he said.

He refused to elaborate but said such events are planned to create “maximum media impact”.

Lt Gen Singh went on to add that such “mischievous” activi ties would not deter a great nation as the Indian Army is fully geared to meet any even tuality. “We want to tell who ever has got these mischievous intentions that nothing can deter us, one Pathankot, one Arnia one Janglot, once more Samba cannot deter us. This nation is too great. Indian army is fully organised. We will take care of every situation ” he said
