DORAL, US: Anirban Lahiri made another upward move in the third round but was still left dissatisfied as he dropped two shots over the last six holes, leaving him at five-under 211 and in tied seventh place at the World Golf Championships here.

On a rather breezy day, Lahiri was cruising as one of the better scorers at three-under through 12 and reached as high as fourth on Saturday. But a bogey on 13th and another dropped shot on 17th saw him drop to tied seventh, but still two places higher than T9 after the second round.

Rory Mcilroy carded a bogeyfree round, his first in 2016, to move into a three-shot lead ahead of the final round at the Wgc-cadillac Championship. At 12-under, he was three clear of Adam Scott (73) and Dustin Johnson (71). YUNUS WINS GLITCH-HIT KOLKATA MARATHON KOLKATA: Services runners Mohammad Yunus and Bahadur Singh Dhoni finished top two in the Kolkata Marathon that was marred by technical glitches.

The Athletics Federation of India-recognised event was reduced to a farce as the organisers did not adhere to the basic competition rules of a marathon and now the timings stand the risk of not being ratified.

“The private organisers should always comply with the rules. We will only approve the timing after seeing the race director’s report. If the report does not tick all the boxes, then the results may not be counted official and will not be taken into account for a selection,” AFI sec retary CK Valson told PTI.

There was no electronic time keeping, no dope control and even the finish line was not equipped with video recording nor there was any water or other refreshments for runners, the few basic things for such an event complained Afi-appointed race director Madhu Kant Pathak.

“They even forgot to give us water at the finish line,” Yunus told PTI after winning with a timing of 2:30:37, 10 sec onds ahead of his Army Sports Institute, Pune teammate Dhoni
