SOCIAL MEDIA USE MAY BENEFIT THE ELDERLY
Contrary to popular belief, emailing, instant messaging, Facebook and other forms of social media may benefit the health of older adults. Researchers from Michigan State University found that use of Facebook and Twitter; online video call apps such as Skype; e-chatting or instant messaging were linked to better self-rated health and fewer depressive symptoms among seniors.
